Comments
Comments: We started up Airline in spikes but changed to snowshoes within 15 minutes due to minor slipping in soft snow. We then used snowshoes up to tree line before switching back to spikes which we used the rest of the day. There is ice between rocks and under a thin layer of snow but in the few spots it felt sketchy there were plenty of rocks to step on. We never felt the need for crampons even though we had them with us. Valley Way is well packed and in good shape.
