Comments
Comments: Doing the Follow The Snowshoe Tracks thing again. This time trail was broke by Brian Bond; and recently hiked by Lady B and Italian.
And it was a darn good thing I had those tracks to follow, because I'd still be searching that first bump right now. Earlier reports are worth a read, specifying which bumps are which. The summit jar is located on the north most bump. This summit is actually pretty hard to find, if you just try to use intuition, because you have to pass over bumps, then head down into a little col, and you think you're going down the mountain, but it really is just a little col, and sure enough, then it goes higher again. Then it looks higher to the right, but it's actually higher to the left, but you can't see it because this little strip of spruce is hiding it!
I never would have found the damn thing!! Good lesson. I think I get the 'skirting' the spruce concept, too. It means you don't try to bust through that stuff, right? Gotta admit, it is a hell of a lot easier;)
