Comments
Comments: Trail was a frozen snow sidewalk until the loop junction. Bare-booted to this point then threw on spikes for the rest of the day, which were the best choice. A few brief stretches where the snowshoes would have been alright but not worth the effort of taking them off the pack so they went for a ride. I went counter-clockwise (ascended straight to summit and descended east ledges) and next time I do this hike I will do the same route. It was definitely steeper on the ascent which is preferable in my opinion, although as the guidebook says, either direction is fine. Incredible views, only saw two other groups. Most of the traffic appeared to be on Potash.
