I had a feeling after last night’s single digit temps and a few posts on Facebook that today would be perfect conditions for this peak for our winter 48 list. I was not wrong. Hard packed snow, hardly any ice and firm conditions. We did meet 2 guys who did the Isolation express Bushwack off the mount Isolation trail and they said the snowshoes were the best option on that part. We stuck to the hard packed route and were not disappointed. Besides those 2 guys we only saw 2 others at the summit. One who just completed his winter 48 list there. Nice quiet day on a beautiful set of trails. The birch glades on the engine hill Bushwack are a destination in theirselves. Best way to get away from the crazy world we are all living in today. |
