| Comments: |
Valley Way was iced up from lots of travel. Deeper snowdrifts over ice between the tent site and hut. Above tree line, rock, brittle ice, and snow drifts. Air Line had similar conditions, slushy but stable down low by early afternoon.Stable enough that I wore crampons all day. Necessary above tree line as others have mentioned. Low visibility but momentary breaks in the fog made for a dramatic day. Some horizontal wet precipitation fell on the way down. |
