Comments
Comments: The hard packed snow and recent cold temps made for a perfect summit all in spikes. As we descended, the warm sun had softened the exposed parts of the trail and while snow shoes would have helped a bit in a few small sections of the trail, the preference today was spikes. Others chose to bare boot today! On our way out, we enjoyed a few decent runs with our butt sleds! On our way up, we ran into a pair of hikers who had lost the trail on the bushwhack and were on their way back out. We assured them of the path and they follow our steps onward! We saw a few others out today too! A group of 3, another of 2, and another of 2. In approaching other hikers, a clear communication of social distancing was sent as well as an agreement made on how we all felt comfortable passing one another. Nobody seemed offended. With cold enough temps, spikes might be your only need. With warm afternoon sun, you'll want to consider snow shoes in the afternoon!
