Well the day had just dropped some snow on the ground. We decided to keep it low and work on some redlines that i needed to clean up. Within about 10 minutes we say a moose for at least another 10 as it seemed to just be following the trail before it went off into the woods to never be seen again. The woods was nice, and could use a little help with some blazing as it is some good open woods but we made it work. We made it up to the peak and I made sure to find the high point. Next stop was the shelter and it was pretty neat and well maintained. There is no sign in book left for the shelter only pens. We headed back to the trail, while I did my redline thing and connected the pieces. The snow started to ball up on our spikes the lower we got on trail. We headed up to south peak as that would connect my missing trail and i never made it to the official summit last time. We back tracked to wolfboro rd and headed down. We started to take the fred harris trail but it was very very muddy. So we opted for a very long rd walk. We made a good loop and grabbed some miles. |
