Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Only real crossing, along the section of the Greenway that followed logging roads, was easily rock hopped.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The SRK Greenway from New Canada Rd. to the ski area summit was in good shape and mostly easy to follow. One or two blowdowns of note. From the ski area summit to the actual summit, it was a very different story. Much more lightly used with several blowdowns, and the blazing was a bit more sparse. The East Ridge Trail to the summit (which is actually a short distance off trail) and Old Top was even more lightly used and sparsely blazed, with significant debris in places. In some areas, it was tricky to tell the trail apart from the forest floor. Balanced Rock Trail was one and the same, although the SRKG leading to it from the East Ridge Trail junction was in better shape (but very wet).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Since there were mild temps and practically no wind during the entire hike, there were quite a few bugs for this time of year. Nothing biting... yet.

Comments
Comments: Please hike carefully and be prepared if you plan on hiking to Ragged Mountain and its subpeaks, especially during these times. Fit and experienced hikers will probably find joy and solace up there, but inexperienced and out of shape hikers might have some difficulty, as several sections of trail show signs of very light use and can be difficult to follow. Also, the ridge has a lot of ups and downs that maps might not show, so those factors mean that this hike is considerably more difficult than the stats suggest.
