Jackman Pond North, Perkins Trail, Bearcamp River Trail, unknown trail, Perkins, Bunker Hill Road, Rte. 113
Followed the north Jackman Pond trail to Bunker Hill Road where we turned right, walked a short ways to the Perkins trail on the left. Nice, wide, grassy trail. At T intersection, we turned left, went a short ways, crossed a shallow stream, then took a right at the next junction, which was the unsigned Bearcamp River Trail. Soon we were paralleling the river which was running pretty good after all the rain and snow melt. At a fork, we decided to continue on the wider path to the left. Soon climbing uphill to the summit of one of the bumps of a Hackett Hill. Reached the height of land then started down. Once we reached level ground, things got pretty messy for a bit: spring snow, watery sections, some mud, until the pathway started a gradual climb back up to the Perkins Trail. Followed that back to Bunker Hill Road where we took a left and followed it back to Rte. 113, turned right and soon we’re back at the car. #hikelocal! |
