 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
**** DO NOT BLOCK THE GATE AND CARS IN THE LOT!! Please pick another trail to hike if the 6 car lot on Wood Road is full. 2 car blocked the gate and nearly everyone in the proper six spots in the PM. I had to maneuver my car with the help of another hiker back and forth to edge it out. The gate must not be blocked per the writing on it, and for SAR potential. Out of state cars lining Route 11A. The signs on Wood Road and Bickford Road say no parking on either road at all. They are not mean spirited but rather town installed official metal no parking signs. Unfortunately hikers have had a history of blocking access to the houses resulting in previous conflict. Please, please don't cause more issues at this and other Belknap Range trailheads which are seeing unprecedented numbers of "hike local hikers" and overrunning local backroads. We may lose access to these trails. |

*Tons of porcupine scat filled boulder dens at the top of Heator Mountain (bushwhack peak). I would probably not bring a dog off leash up there. |

 | Comments: |
Please read the parking comments. Heator had nice woods that made the short bushwhack very easy. Watch out for porcupines. Only a few residual ice patches from the winter so no traction needed on this loop. Not all people were allowing me to pass (social distancing), usually the big groups, so I added to my bushwhacking totals at times today. |
