Hiking Trail Conditions Report

Peaks Black Mountain, NH
Trails
Trails: Black Mountain Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Friday, May 13, 2011
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: A little bit confusing - first trail sign shows trail straight ahead and parking to the right - there is nowhere to go on the right! Parked a bit downhill, then walked straight to discover there was a small parking area not too far past that sign. A little bit muddy, and probably not a good idea for real low riders, but otherwise accessible for most vehicles.

Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail in good shape - water bars recently cleaned out. Two birch log blowdowns, about 6" diameter, on the ground, easily avoided.

Comments
Comments: Black Mountain in Benton. Trail is snow free and mostly dry. Much more tame of a walk as compared to the steep Chippewa Trail. Bellwort, trout lily, purple violet, yellow violet, and trillium wild flowers.
