| Comments: |
On Valley Way the trail started out smooth and quickly turned into what looked like walking through a muddy were stream bed for miles. 2 miles from the hut, traction a must. Snow was turning to mush and to avoid postholing, I put on snowshoes. Close to the hut, the trail was too narrow for snowshoes but I kept postholing. Winds picked up with little viability so I regretfully turned around. I consider the conditions dangerous and fellow hikers proceed with care. |
