Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Cross Baker River on sturdy bridge. First crossing of Gorge Brook on four log wide bridge that is showing its age as it has some give. Bridge over second crossing of Gorge Brook was steady with a new railing. Crossings of small run-off streams on the Gorge Brook Trail were snow/ice bridged. The crossings on the snapper trail were easy. The current was strong on the Baker River and Gorge Brook so the bridges are appreciated.

Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in good condition. Cut a couple of small downed trees near the class of 1966 lodge.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Trails fine for dogs.

Comments
Comments: Snow was prevalent from just before the second crossing of Gorge Brook to the tree line. The summit area was mostly bare rock. The snow cover began again on the ridge to South Peak and continued down the Moosilauke Carriage Road most of the way to the Snapper Trail although there were sections of bare ground/rock and running water in places. The Snapper trail had remnants of the monorail and bare ground. Overall the monorail was solid so the snowshoes remained on the pack today.
Good views of the White Mountains and the Green Mountains.
Saw around a dozen or so hikers today.
