Ugh. This was a tough hike largely due to trail conditions, but also our own late start (driving from Boston) - there was lots of slushy snow, and since we didn't get started until after noon, we didn't get back to the car until 7:45pm. The delayed start, added road-walking, post-holing and general bugginess made it pretty brutal, not to mention the summit was completely covered by the tree-line so there was no view whatsoever. We did see a moose about a mile and a half in, so that was pretty cool!
Despite this somewhat negative review, I think if you wait a couple weeks, start this hike earlier in the day, and have some deet bug spray on hand, this hike would be much more enjoyable.
Happy trails! |
