| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Zealand Road open to just beyond trailhead/bridge crossing. Plenty of mostly avoidable potholes. Room for lots of cars on pulloff or the side of road that isn't posted no parking |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
We crossed Zealand River 50-100' upstream of the washed out bridge on the Trestle Trail. Was mostly easy(ish) and knee-high. One short section where I faced upstream and shuffle-stepped sideways for safety-water was halfway up my quads for this 5-foot stretch. Not too bad if you enjoy a little excitement in your life |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Good shape all around-one large blowdown nearing ladder on Middle Sugarloaf |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
great dog trail. Fin found a pile of human feces just off trail ten minutes into our hike and had a good roll in it. Was forced to clean her off in a muddy puddle. Glad I had hand sanitizer in my pack! The ladder is super easy and more like a staircase-my two year old daughter did it, so if your dog can't do it then your dog is very very tiny or is a weakling:) |
|
| Bugs: |
Lots of mosquitoes and plenty of black flies. Was glad to have the bugnet on |

Awesome views from both peaks. Was fun to meet recent redline finisher Ted W. and chat about redlining. He finished in October and is up to 11% on round 2! |
