Yes, a little bothersome while hiking but more manageable at the summit vista with a nice breeze. |

This is a great local mountain in the Forest Society property of 1,086 acre Hedgehog Mountain Forest. The main summit vista is a steep but short few hundred feet gain in 0.8 miles from the lot and offers wide sweeping views west down into the Contoocook River valley and the hills and mountains of mostly Hancock and Antrim. My party kept it short today and returned to the car but I have hiked south along the ridge before and it is very pleasant. Minor ups and downs with more views to follow. We passed four other parties along the way with everyone being diligent and social distancing. |
