dog joined for south/east portion of cherry mountain trail... definitely best way to summit for him as it is MUCH more more gradual than the other 2 trails. definitely tick central, though. |

Cherry Mountain Trail (S/E portion), Mt Martha Summit Spur, Martha's Mile, Owl's Head Trail
Second consecutive day summiting Mount Martha! Yesterday out & back on west side, today traverse south/east to north. Super fun! Usually I prefer steep up, gradual down, but this time opted to start at 2,181ft at cherry mtn trailhead versus 1,253 at Owl's Head Trhd. Owl's Head Tr is certainly steep going down, but poles helped save my knees... That trail had a few potentially confusing junctions, but all were well signed with arrows. |
