Peaks Rogers Ledge, NH
Trails
Trails: South Pond Road, Kilkenny Ridge Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Thursday, June 18, 2020
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The gate to South Pond is closed so had to park before it. I was the first person at 9:40. Two other cars soon arrived, they were heading to the beach. Same 3 cars at 3:45. There's enough room for 6 - 8 cars total.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All water crossings are easy rock hops
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Some one has been clearing a lot of blowdowns, but there's still a lot more to go. The brush is taking over in a number of places. A number of places the small spruce trees have grown in so much you can't see 10 feet in front of you as you push your way thru. For such a dry Spring I was very surprised by the amount of mud, would not want to do this trail in a normal Spring.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any, but would not be a problem for them.
Bugs
Bugs: They're out there. They usually don't bother me, but I noticed a few today when I stopped.

Comments
Comments: My #45/52WAV. This finishes the 5 new peaks just added for me.

Now that Roger's Ledge has been added to the 52WAV, this trail should start to see a lot more activity.
