| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Gotta know where to find reliable shade! Surprising number of cars around noon, but still plenty of space. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail |

| Recommended Equipment: |

|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
We are in drought. Many otherwise reliable streams are dry, and others down to a trickle. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
We had gotten reports of trail widening on the Holt-Clark Cutoff and of a blowdown along Manning. H-C looked like the only issues were old and not troublesome. We came around to Manning via the scenic route. We did find one BD in the vicinity we'd been told to look, but is seems someone else had been by within a day or two and chainsawn it away. On the way back to the lodge we took out a few smallish BD's and one good-sized, rotten one just above the Holt junction.
Manning drains were cleared. Holt and H-C Cutoff drains need their usual spring cleaning, and there's no trail weekend planned until fall. Clark could use some brushing. Pretty Vistamont is in good shape, as is the Allieway. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Given the heat and drought, the day would have been tough for a dog. |
|
| Bugs: |
Needed the headnet. Deer flies are out. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
Found: One Motorola Talkabout FR50 dating from 2019 November 2, when it was lost by one of the weekend NH Family Group hikes. Took a lickin', no longer tickin'. |
