Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: no cars at the north trailhead early and 6 when I left. 3 at the south trailhead on arrival and 10 when I left.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes: rock hopable. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: a couple of dicey spots on imp trail which were easy to get by. the upper part of north carter is a mess with running water, blowdowns and spruce into the trail. several blowdowns between the carters and a number of broken boards on the bog bridges.

Dog-Related Notes: saw 5 dogs and 42 other hikers.

Bugs: on again off again, but never too bad.

Comments: Glad I started early(5:15). it sure heated up quick. except for the battle up north carter, it was a good hike. the big guys looked great with the big snow patches on the east sides. I now have 28 on my way to doing the 48 at 70+.
