Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We parked along the class 6 road portion at northern crossing of the Greenway on Half Moon Pond Road. Small SUV can make it a driving adventure. Mount Sunapee Ski area parking lot is huge and had a dozen cars parked there so room for a couple hundred more.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Bridged and rock hop-able, Water is little to none flowing out there.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are a couple of trees across the trail just north of Lucia's Lookout when you begin going up again--a bigger saw than I had would be needed. Portions of the Greenway north of Lucia's Lookout are in need of some brushing. And oh dear the privy at Galpin Shelter cannnot be replaced soon enough--it is full. And I have always wondered why White Ledges does not have a trail sign or at least a couple of blazes (almost everyone misses it and walks by).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Water is scarce.
Bugs
Bugs: Bug dope and we kept moving made it so they weren't too vexing

Comments
Comments: Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway, Section 6, Half Moon Pond Road to Mount Sunapee.
Today was Becca and my M-S Greenway finish in 6 section hikes this spring. Other than being a hazy hot day it was a perfect day and Charlie joined us again. A handful of Sobo people arrived as we were leaving Lucia's lookout and we met one person at the Galpin Shelter and then lots of people at Lake Solitude-White Ledge-Mt Sunapee as expect. Wonderful to continue to have almost the whole trail to ourselves. The section between Lucia's and Lake Solitude we really enjoyed the ledgy path and the excellent viewpoints--we savored every vista. A refreshing quick passing thunderstorm rained on us for maybe five minutes just before we got back to our cars. Thank you M-S Greenway Trail Club trail maintainers!
