Comments
Comments: Headed into the woods between the two campsites, heading uphill somewhat steeply to the col between the two peaks. Woods were pretty wide open. Just below the col, we started heading towards the East peak. Moderate to easy grade most of the way. One or two steeper spots nearer to the summit. Woods turned more towards pines the closer we got. Highpoint has an orange jar and register from 2014! From there, we tried to keep a little north as recommended by previous hikers. This took us through some thicker pines. As the slope started to fall away from our heading, we slabbed slightly up towards the col. Crossed the col which was only slightly damp then came to a fairly steep stretch but managed to find a moderate pathway to the summit area. The highpoint was quite a ways west from there but easy walking, past a number of bumps. The bump with the register jar was surrounded by a mess of blowdowns but we managed to find a way up to it on the far end. Not much left of the fire tower remains except some wires. Took a more direct heading back towards the car, a little steep and leafy but not problematic.
