| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We drove up Upper Jordan Hill Road, 1.5 miles, to 1640', to a point where the road narrows and begins to curl south. We parked along the grassy road's edge just past a small cabin and trailer. While the road narrows as you climb, it was in fine shape, it was dry, and easily driveable in our Subaru cars. |

From where we parked, we walked E'ly up a grassy road to the right of this cabin and trailer. We soon passed a gate welcoming hikers/hunters but not ATV's. We followed this grassy/gravel tread road up hill and E'ly about 0.7 miles to a lovely cabin, now at about 1950'.
We BW'd steeply uphill, through fairly ok woods, aiming for a point just south of the peak so as to avoid even steeper terrain. We hit an overgrown/fern filled logging drag scar, which took up to within a couple of hundred feet of the summit.
The top is flatish. Found the jar. Pleasant surprise was a semi-open area and view W'ly towards Gore Mtn., 10 miles away in VT.
Followed the overgrown logging drag road downhill, which brought us to within 500' of the cabin.
Another fun day and successful hike with friend, JEM3. |
