After parking on the side of the road (plenty of room) we rode our bikes up Millbrook Rd. to cul-de-sac, and then followed a woods road to the blue blazed trail which took us to a USFS road. Continuing southward we found the trail off the road, and we able to ride another 1/4 mike until the trial started to climb up rocks and boulders. Dumped our bikes in the woods and followed the well marked trail to the summit of Fisher. Spectacular views once on the sheer ledges.
After summiting Fisher we followed cairns heading to Hogback. In the col we lost the path and began a scrappy whack to the summit of Hogback. More great views awaited us. Green Mountain peered down at us and I was tempted to continue onto Green. That will have to wait for another time. What a great find. We looked over at Welch-Dickey and imagined the hordes of people there and we had these mountains to ourselves. |
