| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The trail is well blazed in yellow (mostly paint, some plastic). The bog bridges were in fine shape and even had that sort of mesh over them to provide traction when they’re wet. I think this is the only trail described in the WMG that has them. Some blowdown work has been done but there were still a few out. A couple old stepovers that will likely remain there (they’ve been mostly trimmed as I recall) and one large blowdown that overhangs the trail. Most or all of these were near the beginning of the trail on the northern end. All signage was in good shape however I found the sign for the falls to be a little misleading. It points to the left for the falls but made it ambiguous as to which way the Cohos Trail (CT) went. There was yellow blaze to the right but there was also a plastic yellow blaze leading back from the falls near the jct. The WMG makes it clear that the CT turns right here. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
A fine trail for dogs. |

| Bugs: |
I don’t recall them as much on this hike...not sure if that’s because I’m writing the trail report three days later or if it’s because there were generally less bugs on this section of the CT I was on Tuesday. The trail goes through some brush so I’d be mindful of ticks. |

My fourth hike of the day. The trail started off a bit wet from some passing showers the area got during my last hike but there was minimal mud and the trail dried quickly and was not slippery. Nice, scenic, easy trail but be aware that it’s malty downhill from north to south so expect to be gaining elevation on your way back whether you walk back on the road (a little over half a mile shorter than returning on the trail so I opted to do that) or on the trail.
There’s a sign that directs you down to the falls. It’s a spur not mentioned in the WMG. It descends a little ways and is a bit of a herd path but does seem to clearly stop at a point not too far from the trail. No one else seen except a couple of fisherman through the trees in the river. |
