| Comments: |
Bare-booted up, used LT on the way down, helpful but not necessary. No snow on Pine Link until about 1/4 mi before the intersection with the Howker Ridge Trail then covering the trail where it follows a brook - unstable over the brook, some post-holing. Above the intersection, on the Howker Ridge Trail, minimal snow between the Howks, firm but could soften with warmer weather. Visible snowfields above treeline, but none encountered. Snow much more prevalent coming down Pine Link back to the Howker intersection. Still a couple of deep snowfields appearing 4 to 5 feet deep, again, firm for now, light traction was helpful in a couple of spots here. Snowshoes could have been helpful for the moose droppings in one section of the Pine Link Trail lower down. |
