Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossing of Cedar Brook was very easy. It could be done dry/rock hopping with a little effort but at this point we were walking through water all day anyways in our trail runners and didn't even bother to stay dry.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes:
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Great dog hike. No shortage of mud and water. Fin seemed to enjoy herself
Bugs
Bugs: Buggiest conditions we had ever dealt with in the Whites. The 1.5 miles section of the Wilderness Trail we hiked was extremely unpleasant. Bring your nets and your deet poison or your hippie oils or run really really fast or whatever but do something or you will be eaten alive!!!

Comments
Comments: Awesome low elevation wilderness hike today for some redlines. Cedar Brook trail is incredibly pleasant, although after three days of rain it was remarkably wet, as expected. Really, really, really wet. Bring your snorkel! We avoided any crowds today until the Franconia Brook tentsite, where we encountered aggressive dogs with inept owners and a large obnoxious group of hikers wearing vulgar political t-shirts who needed a lesson in how to properly carry an infant in the wilderness. Put a slight damper on the mood for a brief moment which we soon washed away in the cold, clear waters of the pemi river. A few minutes of soaking will cleanse the mind, body, and soul of whatever ails you:)
