Comments
Comments: Last time we hiked in April it was 35 degrees. It was mid 80's today & very humid. We need to acclimatize!

Funny thing happened on the way down on the Red Ridge Trail down low. I brought along a brand new never used Delorme PN60 ( that will be going back to EMS today). I thought I had been walking for what seemed to be a very long time so I took it out of my pack to check my location. It had not been working right so I stopped fooling with it back at the summit. It showed my location as halfway up Attitash Trail!( By this time I was out of water and my cell phone was dead.) That is 6-7 miles off from where we should have been.I managed to quell the urge to sprint back the way we had come & calmly backtracked for a mile.We saw the trail sign for White Horse Ledge (I did anyway, I don't think Alaska could look up at that point) & realized we were where we thought we were. Thank GOD! I really want to keep my name out of the mountain rescue archives.

When we finally got to the truck the thermometer read 90 degrees. That was at 3pm. Went straight to the store for Gatorade and water! All in all a good adventure. Now I'm off to EMS. I hope they'll only give me store credit back;)
