We then followed this road for about five miles and forked left up an older woods road and followed it for just over a ½ mile to some washed out drainage preventing use from going further. Comments
Comments: This mountain is on the NH 2000-Footer and NH 500 Highest list.

This was our 2nd hike of the day and while other folks approached this mountain from the east we were looking for a little longer of a hike and a different approach.

From our parking location we set off hiking east on the wood’s road, crossed over the washed-out drainage and soon came to a fork, we went left / north. This old wood road was a really nice open area as we followed it for about ¾’s of a mile or so. At this point the road starts to get really overgrown. There’s also an older woods road running northwest. We thought about following the northwest road but it looked tall wet grass so we actually split the two and started bushwhacking north in nice open woods, this continued for a bit and we hit a section of thick regrowth, then popped through that into nice woods and soon hit the recognized hit point. After signing in we returned the way we came.

I think the approach worked out well also picking up herd paths, older woods road and good old bushwhacking.

Another great adventure with my beautiful bride Mary
