Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Friday, August 14, 2020

Parking/Access Road Notes: At the Flat Mountain Pond Trail parking area off Bennett St. in Sandwich.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: GPT has a few blowdowns left; I removed a few small ones. The bypass around the beaver pond going southbound needs to be better marked (even some flagging would do) and requires a short bushwhack to reach due to flooding. It's easier to follow going northbound.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure.
Bugs
Bugs: Mosquitoes were annoying when stopped.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: To follow up on my earlier visit, this was a walk in from the north to complete the check on the trail. The only real problem area is the beaver pond issue noted above. Bushwhackers and those good with route-finding should be fine, but this could be tricky for beginner hikers. Some old yellow blazes remain once on the bypass proper. Otherwise, these trails are in good shape. The dry spell continues; any muddy areas are pretty much dried up at the moment.
