| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
We are in a drought, so o.k. for now (for Prema, with my short legs I did them all in Tevas, descending a couple days later, I wore my boots and got a little wet on some of them). |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
WODC folks are miracle workers. It is amazing how they removed all the hurricane wreckage using non-motorized tools on Sleeper. The spur path to East Sleeper still has one or two blowdowns. Part of the main trail is brushy, but these are raspberry bushes with a few ripe ones! |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Plenty of sips and dips on Downes, no water on Kate. Plan accordingly. Be careful if you follow the trail to the end where you will be on the South Tripyramid Slide. |
| Bugs: |
A few skeets. |
| Lost and Found: |
A beige baseball cap with something about a 50k race. It's hanging on a tree on the left side of the brook after a few crossings. Pink cloth with white polka dots on the Potash sign. Left both where they were in case the owner was returning that way. |

| Comments: |
Part of a short backpacking trip earlier this week. Went partially up Sunday, camped tightly but legally when it got dark. Resumed ascent Monday and found a nice spot where Downes meets Kate. Set up tent and went to the Sleepers. Very pretty trail that actually has some obstructed views from East Sleeper. East Sleeper was signed and had a cairn, West did not. Don't let anyone tell you there are no views on this trail; it ends on the South Tripyramid Trail. If that's not a view I don't know what is. |
