Great day for a hike, weather sunny and in the upper 70's. Trail starts out easy. Took the side trails to Elephant Head and Bugle Cliff, nice views of the notch. Got sidetracked above Bugle Cliff and followed a previously bushwacked trail through the pines to the south of the main trail. Reconnected about 1/4 mile up (nice path in its own right). Went counterclockwise around the loop, going up Webster first. Dry trail, easily navigated. Steeper toward the top, some rock scrambles. Nice view around the summit. Over to Jackson, wet areas through the col (with boardwalks). Some rock scrambles up Jackson, the Grey Jays were friendly up there. Great views and visibility all around. Steady but steep descent off Jackson, evening off toward the loop split. 5h23m hike.
