| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked at the Skook trailhead/bike path lot. About 7 other vehicles there at ~0815 with about 8 open spots. Only a couple remained upon return at ~1415. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Everything very dry and very low. Wouldn't even call the first couple a rock hop. More a step over. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Excellent axe work throughout. Whoever placed the stone stairs on Greenleaf and Skook those many years ago were amazingly skilled nd determined. Thank you! |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
My lab did an excellent job, if not tired because oft he pace we kept. Note that there is really only drinkable water for them on trail on the lower half of Skookumchuck. Bring extra, we went through a liter by the summit and refilled at the hut. Also waded in Echo Lake on the way back. |
| Bugs: |
None. Did not encounter the yellow jacket nest previously noted so that was good. |
| Lost and Found: |
Several unprepared hikers (what trail is this? does this go all the way to the top? where is there water to drink? what's a hut? what do you mean map?) |
