Absolutely gorgeous foliage, and hardly any people on an ultra-busy weekend except on North Percy. We covered Bald Mtn Notch trail, the unofficial trail up Bald Mtn (It's a constructed and well-maintained trail, much more than a herd path; no sign, but it branches off the main trail about 0.1 mile from the 3-way trail intersection, 0.5 mile down from the notch high point; wonderful views for a fairly modest hike if you just went there.), Rowell Link, Old Summer Club trail, Victor Head, South Percy, Percy Peaks trail to North Percy, then return down Old Summer Club to Lake Christine and walk back on the road through Percy village. Fabulous views from all four peaks, the best from North Percy: All of the Mahoosuc range; Moriah-Carter-CarterNotch-Wildcat-Madison&Adams, and the Franconia ridge. |
