I had the mountain to myself for an excellent sunrise this morning. Nice talking briefly with a couple of hikers in the parking area.
Definitely wet this morning. A little standing water here and there, but no real mud. The biggest issue was just how slippery things were with the newly fallen leaves.
First time hiking the lower portion of this trail. This is a great way up Moosilauke. It is very apparent that the lower section of this trail sees much less traffic that the other trails. Although the mileage may be a bit more than some of the other trails, which may explain why people don't use it as much, overall I would say it is much easier than some of the other trails due to the moderate grades and generally good footing. |
