 | Comments: |
I did the loop around Owls Head going in via Lincoln Woods, Black Pond bushwhack, Lincoln Brook trail, and Brutus bushwhack. Then back down Brutus and north on Lincoln Brook to 13 falls before heading down Franconia Book trail and out Lincoln Woods. Coming down Brutus had some areas with slick dirt and lots of leaves so it was slower than normal. There is one extremely muddy area on Franconia Brook at the north end of the ponds. It was very difficult to get around without getting a boot full of mud. Franconia Brook is easy terrain but had a lot of leaves down making it hard to see any rocks. Foliage is erratic. Lincoln Woods trail had some nice yellows and oranges while northern Lincoln Brook still had a lot of green. |
