|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||The Horn, The Bulge, Mt. Cabot, NH|
||Unknown Pond Trail, Kilkenny Ridge Trail, Horn Spur, Bunnell Notch Trail, York Pond Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Wednesday, October 14, 2020|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Only three cars in the lot at start and finish. |
||Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Significant |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||Crossings were mellow except the one on Bunnell Notch Trail about a mile from parking which required some searching for dry passage. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Many blowdowns along the trails but all were step-overs. Trails were otherwise in decent shape except the upper portion of the Horn side trail which was badly braided in the fragile habitat. |
|Lost and Found:
||The trails up to Cabot were mostly dry despite the recent heavy rainfall but, as expected, the Kilkenny Ridge Trail south of Cabot and the Bunnell Notch Trail were slop fests with mud and running water underfoot. Saw two other people on the trails all day. Nice to meet and chat with Bill.|
Lovely hike with Chris with attractive views and stunning woods. C/2 46/49.
