| Comments: |
Trace snow accumulation was apparent at about 2000 feet, with increasing depths to the summits. Deepest snow I encountered was between the North Carter Trail Junction and South Carter. Maybe as much as 1 foot, with occasional drifts. I brought my microspikes, but did not need them and bare-booted the entire hike.
Once I reached Zeta Pass and the Carter Dome Trail, there had already been a fair amount of traffic and the trail was nicely packed for the most part to the summit of Carter Dome. Descending, trail conditions deteriorated rapidly below Zeta Pass.
