Comments
Comments: Socked in today. Both ponds are just starting to freeze over--they have a ways to go. Leaves and roots were slippery with all the rain, and I suspect everything will freeze up very soon (a different kind of slippery). One other car was in the parking lot when we started out around 11am, but we never saw other hikers and the car was gone when we left around 3 (assuming they hiked Osceola). We hiked to the southern boundary of the FPA below Lower Greeley Pond and were able to do that water crossing.

A nice day to be in the Mad River Notch.
