Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail was in overall good condition. A couple blow-downs were cut close to the trail, and there was at least one "duck under" but if you're short of stature, it's not much of a duck. (Don't cry fowl!)

Comments
Comments: The trail when I started out was pretty icy everywhere. But the temps soared into the upper 40s by afternoon, and the melting really took off. By the time I was back to some of the earlier stretches of trail, the snow was really heading for the door. No kidding, there was one small cascade that I almost didn't recognize on the way back -- on the way up, it was encased in ice, but on the way down, it was just rock and rushing water. Wow!

Right now, I advise micro spikes for a bare minimum. I don't think you need to haul out the huge Grivel crampons, but perhaps keeping the Kahtoola K-10s (or their Hillsound equivalent) on hand will give you more options than you might have otherwise had.

As an aside, the gates for the Twins, as well as Garfield/Galehead, were still open when I drove past this evening.

As always, photos and a more detailed write-up are on my blog.
