Comments
Comments: 85 people on trail 1140-1540. Many herd paths on thin organic soil esp. in spruce zone. Huge increase in these impacts this year. One such trail had a few blazes on it. Hikers seek easiest walking, and this eroded steep rocky trail never was easy. Like many other popular trails, this one needs many more crew hours building drains and steps. It also needs relocation to switchbacks at easier grade where possible,

We turned back 0.2 mi, before summit, too much black ice on ledges. Below 1/2-way rock it was flowing water.
