Comments
Comments: Considering there were no trip reports, we were pleasantly surprised to find 19MBT was well packed down. Spikes were sufficient.

We switched to snowshoes for the Carter Dome Trail, which was also well packed but with softer snow. There appears to have been a lot of traffic up to Zeta Pass but not beyond.

Our group of 3 split up at Zeta Pass & I went solo to Carter Dome. There were only 1 snowshoe track & 1 post hole track. The post holder really trashed the trail &, fortunately, turned back after about .25 miles, which made the rest of the trail quite lovely. No views today so it was a short stay at the top. On the return trip, I passed 7 hikers so the trail should be well packed down now.

Little traffic going to South & Middle Carter before today. My friends ended up breaking trail between South & Middle and there were at least 7 of us doing the traverse so it’s packed out, albeit on softer snow. The descent on N Carter was fairly easy with one long patch of wet, exposed trail. The Imp trail was a mess! Lots of running water, bare rocks, slush & leaves. Ugh!
