Large tree down on descent portion of loop. Difficult to go around because of boulders |

UNH Trail loop - hiked counterclockwise wise( right at junction)
Trail had 5-8 inches of snow depending on elevation. Snowshoes went on at trailhead - had to break trail for entire hike. The snow was very light, resulting in poor coverage for the uneven terrain. Rocks and roots a constant hazard. First leg of loop challenging with snowshoes, but the descent very moderate. Blazes few and far between.
Only saw a lone hiker, who followed our tracks, and caught up with us at the loop’s end junction.
Cold with no wind and bright sunshine- a great day to be out on the trails!
