Used spikes till about 300ft, then got tired of sliding backward and donned snowshoes. Gamechanger. Kept shoes on past hut, and a bit up toward the rocky summit till it seemed rock hopping would be easier (def challenging either way) so returned to spikes. Quite windy at top but not terribly cold. Views spectacular. Valley Way is a nice gradual incline for most of way, easy walk out at end. Took Valley Way up and back. Took about 8 hrs w/ side trip to Star Lake. Wonderful trip. |
