Only ones out today--and it was a beautiful day. In our party of two, one of us wore snowshoes and the other spikes. Both were fine options, but if you have snowshoes and want to pack the monorail some more, it wouldn't hurt (I wouldn't call it a monorail just yet but it's getting there). There is definitely enough snow for snowshoeing, but not quite enough for snowmobiles to complete the summit loop. It got kinda rocky up there and we heard a snowmobile turn around while we were on the summit. On our descent, the snow started to get sticky as the temp rose above 32.
Saw some moose tracks just below the summit and potentially a bobcat track twice on/near the trail, but not much wildlife to speak of today otherwise. |
