Comments
Comments: We hiked this as an out-and-back to Owl's Head as we were concerned about the trail conditions low down after Owl's. The traverse would probably be fine but we didn't take the chance.
The trail started off with just a trace of snow and a lot of bare/muddy trail so we bare booted until about half way up. Then the microspikes went on as it was snow over ice. It snowed gently during the hike so it's really pretty right now.
There were blowdowns on Martha's Mile which were easy to navigate, then the scrambles were...interesting and fun. Very icy but good micros were fine. Owl's Head is a gem.
