Comments
Comments: 5:50am start, 9:50am finish. First car in the lot. 17 degrees F. Wind blowing so hard that the car was shaking!!!
I put on my microspikes about 30 seconds up the trail and left them on the whole trip. Trace to an knch of snow over patches of ice with running water in places. The last 0.4 miles before the spur to Mount Martha is tricky on the way down; take care!!
After minimal time on the Mount Martha summit (the wind was wicked!) I wandered out Cherry Mountain Trail for another mile. Mine were the only human prints.
Beautiful day!! Saw only two people and two dogs (and two grouse!). One other car in the lot when I got back.
