Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Carter Dome Trail, from 19M to Zeta, could use some refresh of blue blazes. Same with NC from CM to Imp (but yellow). A few blowdowns through listed trails, nothing a handsaw cant take care of. North Carter Trail is in immaculate shape now, a nice haircut for sure!

A fine day in the forest! A late start for me (0900) but I was on the muscle and feeling good. All trails are in great shape, if you have rock spikes you could bring them and swap them out with good spikes at higher elevation. I went up Carter Dome Trail from 19M trying to avoid the steep section from the hut to the Dome. Heard second hand beta that section is wind swept/scarred/blue ice. Out and backed that - no evidence of any tracks going to Hight at that time (or Rainbow or Black Angel). Same conditions persisted up South Carter and Middle Carter. Did a little boot skiing in the Col between South and Middle. Weee! North Carter and Imp were quite delightful with running water, blue ice, then rocks, then no snow, then roots. All in all, a total zoom zoom PR day on the Carters for December. Get it while it's good.
