Comments
Comments: Though the trail looked bootpacked and the snowpack didn't look too deep, I only barebooted a few steps before returning to my vehicle and grabbing my snowshoes; the snow was soft prior to sunrise. Microspikes would have been unpleasant due to snowballing and minor postholing; barebooting would have been spinning tires and minor postholing. Snowshoes provided an excellent grip.

Old Mountain Erode and Crawford Ridgepole both had decent snowpack (still less than a foot, but bony sections surprisingly well covered at the moment). Active drifting in the usual place. Still some slush in the mudpits on Old Mountain Erode.
