The trail condition was consistent with other reports that I read through. There are a few sections where you may have more fun climbing up with snowshoes/televators, but light traction did fine enough for me today. After the hut, the trail up to the summit is mixed with exposed dry rocks and snow(both packed and drifted).
Overall, really great conditions. Weather was about 28(F) at the trailhead and maybe a little lower with the winds at the Peak. Approaching the summit, I only noticed one major gust that kicked up a bunch of snow. Other than that, there was great visibility and an undercast. Great day to visit Madison again! |
